Live Concert Streaming Platform EVNTLIVE Invites You to a Show
The internet is a beautiful thing, with so much information, content, and entertainment a few key strokes and mouse clicks away that it’s mind boggling. And one of the best parts is that it’s all true! You can’t put anything on the internet that isn’t true, read that on the internet once. For all the amazing, wonderful, time saving uses of the internet, we can in fact agree upon one thing: getting concert tickets is a pain.
It’s okay, we can admit it, and we have all been there. We’ve all yelled at our computer at one point, most likely still in our PJs with sleep still in our eyes because for some reason e-tickets go up for sale online at an hour many of us would still much rather be sleeping. Maybe it’s because the online concert ticket gods just like to see us dance as we scream at our computer screens, occasionally resorting to violent behavior striking our computers, and click the refresh page button like it’s our job because the site server is down due to ‘increased traffic’. Even if you do get in, you run the risk of your desired seats being taken, making frantic phone calls to your friends as you all try to agree upon a new, and usually more expensive ticket price, and don’t even get me started on the ‘convenience fees’.
Well concert goers, if sleeping in a tent to be first in line at a box office or setting up an entire network of 5 computers to make sure at least one of them gets online at the appropriate time to buy tickets isn’t a level of commitment you’re willing to go to, I present to you EVNTLIVE, a live concert streaming platform that might just become your new best friend (sorry timmy..)
EVNTLIVE aims to be an on-demand curator of hi-def live concerts online. Starting earlier this week the company started offering invitations to the beta version of its service. Past experience indicates that live streaming of concerts doesn’t keep people from attending so if you’re the type of person who loves to go to concerts for the atmosphere and social aspects (and who doesn’t?) you need not worry, there will still be plenty of people to crowd surf with. Major music festivals such as Bonnaroo and Coachella already regularly stream live performances and as the technology advances and becomes more affordable, we can expect smaller venues and events to follow suit.
How do you pay for such an amazing service you ask? Well, the company will explore three options. Some concerts will be available on a pay-per-view basis on a sliding scale. Others will appear at a reduced rate or even free on a sponsorship basis. In other cases, some content may appear completely free even without sponsorship. When possible the platform would like to see these live performances cataloged for later, on-demand viewing.
