Elvis Costello fans are going to love this, a DVD box set of the music legend as host of a talk show. In each episode he introduces other music legends such as U2 and Bruce Springsteen. E-Gear’s Howard Whitman offers an overview of this collection:
This is a show featuring people who live and music aimed at viewers who love it. Love of music in all its forms is the common bond here (besides, of course, EC). Passionate performances abound-from Springsteen (natch), but also Lovett, Sheryl Crow (in a songwriters’ round robin ep), and the Thompson/Lowe/Helm/Toussaint supergroup. The shows are loose, spontaeous, well-produced and wonderfully staged at (mostly) Harlem’s famed Appollo Theater.
