Earlier this season Apple fans had much to rejoice about with the announcement of Key Digital’s new Compass Control® system. As the manufacturer’s first-ever control system, Compass Control acts is a fully integrated major control system built from the ground up, which enables the use of Apple’s iOS 5 devices, including the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch, as its backbone.
Key Digital, alongside Compass Control’s Compass Alliance Partners (CAP), has already created a fully integrated control system with driver support for hardware for a number of brands ranging from Denon, LG, and Panamax to Wolfvision, Furman and beyond. Combining the knowledge and expertise of both Key Digital and CAP brands, Compass Control was able to then develop a complete turnkey residential or commercial control solution.
So how does it all work?
Compass Control has the ability to control devices via RS-232, IR or TCP/IP. This new control system provides installers with bi-directional IR, two-way RS-232 with feedback and two-way TCP/IP control for unlimited flexibility and maximum compatibility with new or existing devices. Compass Control also provides control via relays and sensors, which enhances its ability to act as a powerful integration tool. When programming the system via Compass Navigator® PC editor software, installers are given three separate database managers to make programming faster than traditional control systems. Compass Navigator also enables installers to edit command code sets which allows Compass Control to be tailored to each and every system installation.
It’s the hope of Key Digital’s executives, including Vice President for Sales, Michal Lakhter, that Compass Control can help tackle some serious market challenges, ”With the combined efforts of all of our Compass Alliance Partners, Compass Control represents the culmination of our efforts to create the most powerful, most user-friendly, and most comprehensive control system on the market today,” Lakhter explained.
For those attending CEDIA EXPO 2012, Key Digital will be displaying Compass Control at Booth #2046.
