Lutron has just announced that its latest lighting control product is now shipping. The anticipated HomeWorks QS system is now available, along with a compatible iPad app.
HomeWorks QS was first introduced at September 2010’s CEDIA Expo. It boasts increased energy savings, simplified installation and programming and better integration of lights, shades, HVAC and other home appliances.
Aside from providing control, the HomeWorks QS does boast a few unique features. One is Radio PowrSavr sensors, which work with the system to make sure that lights are only on when the room is actually occupied. Another energy/money-saving measure is a simple, single Green button, which scales back lights, shades and temperature when less will do.
Using Clear Connect Wireless technology, the system promises reliability, control of up to 10,000 zones via local wireless, centralized or hybrid system designs, and variety!
Some of that variety comes in the form of new components, which includes occupancy and vacancy sensors, keypads, appliance and dimming modules, and other controls. Lutron says that additional keypads, wallbox power modules, the GRAFIK Eye QS, Sivoia QS Venetian blinds, and RF Maestro-style phase-adaptive dimmers will all be available starting April 4, 2011.
Another option, seeTemp, allows homeowners to adjust heating and cooling systems any time of day. That add-on is expected to be available this July.
