It’s not uncommon for high-end home theater and automation installers to find themselves wearing several hats on a site: electrician, interior designer … therapist? Well, when you have the experience and expertise Abbott’s Technology Design Group has—a group with 25 years experience installing high-end audio/video systems in the Las Vegas area—others will be looking to you to make their lives easier, and more peaceful.
That was the case on a recent installation. The homeowners live a busy lifestyle, which revolves around entertaining, and were understandably traumatized by a previous integrator that found itself way over its head. Abbott’s arrived on the scene, assessed the situation and quickly took control, despite the fact that the home was already built.
“As soon as we got involved, we organized and managed the cabinet maker, electrician, interior designer, etc. They felt like a burden was lifted off their shoulders, and it was a very fluid process,” recalls Shauna Newmiller, a spokesperson for Abbott’s. “We worked with the homeowner to discover their needs and uses and created a solution that solved their problems where the last integrator failed.”
The house is filled with clean lines, sleek and sophisticated style and has an overall uncluttered look. Abbott’s touch screens not only integrated into the lifestyle but also enhanced the design of the home. Installers took every detail into account to make sure that the look and feel of the automation, lighting and touch panels fit perfectly into the home.
Since Abbotts knew the homeowner was an artist, they created a lighting plan that would highlight her artwork in ways she never thought possible.
And everything is controlled via touch panels, including motorized doors, lighting, thermostat/climate and all entertainment sources. Abbott’s essentially took a house that had a bunch of non-working independent systems and turned it into a fully integrated home for the convenience of the homeowner.
Plus, since the homeowners entertain a lot and never before were able to have their music and movies as part of their social gatherings, Abbott’s made sure they could utilize their music and movies as an integral part of their parties. And with the ability to access all their movies and music at a finger tip, their time at home was more valuable and could be enjoyed more often.
“They wanted to simplify their lifestyle and create a trouble-free refuge in their home,” Newmiller says. “We coordinated everything so the homeowner did not have a worry in the world—their project just happened!”
