If Gene Roddenberry was alive today, his home theater would probably look exactly like this, except not nearly as cool. One look at the home theater designed and executed by West Palm Beach, Florida’s Ask The Advisors and Acoustic Innovations, and you’ll understand why a job performed by Ask The Advisors is unlike any other. This is indeed a special company.
To put it plainly, the home owner wanted to put a replica of the bridge of the Star Trek Enterprise in his home. To some, this might seem crazy. To Ask The Advisors, it was business as usual. OK, so maybe it wasn’t that ordinary, but making the impossible possible is why the installers there come to work every morning.

“The homeowner was, to quote him directly, ‘blown away,’ that we, Acoustic Innovations and Ask The Advisors, ‘exceeded his expectations,’” says Ask The Advisors’ Scott Drummond. “Point of fact … the client is currently looking at building a new home with an even more totally over the top theater and entertainment space. Where the design is going I can’t disclose at this time, but it will be unbelievable!”
Unbelievable? You mean, more unbelievable than recreating the bridge of the Enterprise with such authenticity that the operators of the Las Vegas Hilton’s “Star Trek Experience” must be jealous? Keep in mind, this isn’t just a replica. It’s a fully stocked home theater, including D-Box “motion seating” so an entire row of seats has the incredible experience of “riding the movies.” In addition, the room has 11, 800-watt amps that draw a lot of current and create incredible sound pressure.
“The theater was designed and engineered with all the equipment pre-planed,” Drummond says, so Ask The Advisors could achieve integration of the electronics without impacting the look and feel of the home.

“The homeowner knew exactly what he wanted the room to look like and how to perform,” Drummond said. “He was included in the design process from day one and supervised the entire project through to the end.”
The ability to create this overall look while still maintaining an incredibly high level of quality in sound and video impresses everyone that has the opportunity to visit. And the theater gives a movie experience that puts even the best public theaters to shame. The home owner was referred to Ask The Advisors for the job because it was considered the elite location for high-end A/V and integration.
Drummond says the project, while obviously difficult at times, was a labor of love. “This home owner in particular is a huge Sci-Fi fan,” he says. “Having the ability to design a system to a hobby he was in love with creates a sense of accomplishment only some of us can experience.”
