Marantz announced this week two new home theater receivers featuring high power output, plenty of advanced inputs, Internet content options and Apple AirPlay compatibility.
First up, the 110 watt-per-channel SR6006 ($1,1999) includes seven HDMI v1.4a inputs. The receiver is DLNA v1.5 certified (Digital Living Network Alliance) for accessing content from other DLNA drives and devices, includes front USB ports and built-in streaming for services including Pandora, Rhapsody, Napster, Flickr and Internet radio stations.
It also includes an HD Radio tuner (in addition to standard AM and FM).
The SR6006 includes three zones for multiroom audio use, while the SR5006 offers two-zone audio networking.
Both the Marantz SR6006 and SR5006 are Bluetooth capable home theater receivers that can access Bluetooth devices (cell phones, tablets) when uses with a Marantz RX101 Bluetooth receiver ($99.99).
The SR5006 is similar to the SR6006 but it includes 100 watts-per-channel and no HD radio tuner
The systems both include and easy onscreen “Setup Wizard” which guides the user through steps that include language select, speaker connection, speaker calibration, plus Dynamic Volume/EQ settings, source setup and more.
Both support audio bit-streams up to 320kbps, and feature the latest Dolby Pro Logic llz, Dolby True HD, and dts HD decoding. Additionally, both models accept LPCM 7.1 signals from a Blu-Ray player and have DC Triggers and RS232C.
